Who is my child becoming?
East Bay Classical Academy is being built for families across Oakland, CA and the East Bay who want their children to grow in faith, character, wisdom, and academic excellence.
Why East Bay Classical Academy?
Our goal is to create an educational experience and school culture that forms children who:
Love God and others at home, at church, and in the community.
View the world with wonder and care, cultivating beauty and goodness.
Reason, speak, read, and write with skill, guided by truth.
Pursue deep knowledge of literature, science, math, history, and more - not just the what but the why.
Reach for their imagination instead of a screen.
Bring enduring truths into conversation with the modern world.
What is Classical Christian Education?
Classical Christian education seeks to cultivate wisdom and virtue—not simply transfer information.
We aren't only asking, “What should a child know?”
We're also asking, “Who is this child becoming?”
Our Four Core Priorities
Meet the Founder
The seeds for East Bay Classical Academy were sown over years spent in classical education. Our founder, Daniel Pyke, has been working for half a decade to cultivate excellent classical schools across the US, and during this time, he came to see an opportunity to plant one in the East Bay. Motivated by a desire to give access to deeply formative Christian education to his own children and to the East Bay community, he embarked on a mission to initiate what can only be described as a God-sized vision. And Lord willing, the harvest will be abundant!
